Sharing Your Word Clouds With the Web
A Wordle word cloud, much like a tag cloud, is a fun image made from a block of text. They make great images that you can use for your websites, t-shirts, schoolwork, and even use them in a classroom. You can take text from anywhere and create a Wordle that will show you the most important words in that text in a creative way. We love Wordles and would love to share some ideas for Wordle word clouds as well as see some of your ideas. The 2012 Summer Olympic Games have started and the world is tuning in. I have always loved the Olympics and still can get choked up watching Americans stand on the podium and the National Anthem plays. There are some events that I don’t appreciate, but the overall feeling of the Olympics is awesome. The Opening Ceremony this time around was fun and interesting, although it seems like Sir Paul has lost a bit of his mojo in his old age. I made this word cloud out of the London 2012 Olympic logo and it contains all of the hosting cities through the years. I hope you enjoy the Olympics and I hope you enjoy the wordle!
We are less than 4 months away from the 2012 Presidential election. It’s always an exciting time because you know every commercial is going to be a political one bashing one person or another and every time the phone rings there is a chance that you will be greeted by one of the political candidates in recorded message form. Ah yes, the election brings out the best in all of us. No matter who you are rooting for I do hope you all use your right to vote so that your complaints become valid if your candidate loses. There’s something that is just annoying when someone goes on and on about how their candidate choice didn’t win and now the world is paying for not listening to them only to find out that they didn’t even vote.
Anyway, I made some wordles using the Obama campaign logo using his first official campaign speech transcript and then used the Romney campaign logo and used his speech from the last of the primary elections. You can see that there is an emphasis from both of them on businesses and jobs. Hopefully whomever is elected will actually do some good, but I wish there was a way to vote for ‘Please try again’ instead of having to choose between these two.
With the recent news out of the world of physics surrounding the Higgs boson particle I thought I would join in on the fun. While I don’t completely understand everything that this news means, I do get that it is really cool to be around when there is such a large discovery in science. This does open up a lot of what we can understand about the atom and what makes them up. This “God particle” can explain a lot about how atoms are held together and through that, we can see how a lot of the microscopic world works.
I made this wordle out of a simulated picture of the Higgs boson particle itself. It may be difficult to see what it is without knowing already, but I thought it was pretty cool. What do you think? Let me know by commenting below and send in more wordles!
With the 2012 Wimbledon Championship wrapping up this weekend I thought I’d put a wordle out there made out of the names of the past champions from 1968 – 2011. You can see where there are names that jump out immediately establishing themselves as dominant. Between the Williams sisters and Billie Jean King there are few that can compete with the number of championships between them.
I hope you enjoy this Wimbledon Wordle and share it with every one you know. If you would like to see your word cloud here just submit it using the link to the left!
With yesterday’s Supreme Court decision there is going to be a lot of talk about President Obama’s plans for healthcare and how things are going to be different in this country. It doesn’t matter whether or not you agree with the plan, it will affect you and how things are done. If that is going to be for the better or for the worse still remains to be seen. With the curiosity I normally possess I decided to check out exactly what the plan says rather than rely on other people telling me their interpretation. So I found the complete 1000+ page text and made a wordle out of it. I have not yet read the entire thing and I may never be able to get through it all, which makes me wonder if anyone who is in charge of making decisions on these types of things actually read all of them either…

The grills are sizzling and so are the sidewalks so that must mean it’s summertime. And along with summertime burgers and hot dogs come the fireworks of the 4th of July. I love setting off fireworks on our street and I love even more the neighbors nearby who set off the most-likely-illegal fireworks. So enjoy these Independence day wordles and enjoy your summer.

This lovely seahorse word cloud was sent in celebrating the fact that dudes can carry babies just as well as women can. I thought it was pretty funny and I hope you enjoy it. I, for one, am very happy with the way the human reproduction system works out. If you want to send in your word cloud just click the link to the left and email it in!
